³They say, “Let’s break ·the chains that hold us back [^Ltheir chains/bonds]
and throw off ·the ropes that tie us down [^Ltheir ropes/cords from us].”

⁴But the one who sits in heaven [^CGod] laughs;
the Lord ·makes fun of [ridicules; derides] them.
⁵Then the Lord ·warns them [^Lspeaks to them in anger]
and frightens them with his ·anger [fury].
